~About ADAPT~
ADAPT examinations are available to all dancers of ADAPT schools. Teachers who wish to enter students into the examination process have to apply for an "examination date".
(If a teacher chooses to teach the ADAPT syllabus work, it is that teachers’ responsibility to attend ADAPT teacher courses, keep up with syllabus revisions and at all times, uphold the ADAPT standard.)
~The expectations of ADAPT teachers and students are extremely high. The grading system for exams is standardized across Canada and the U.S. and the results are both internationally recorded and recognized.
Mr.and Mrs. Foley, from Toronto Ontario, are the founders of the ADAPT syllabus. It was an extremely big deal to have both of them at our studio in Vermilion from December 11 - 14, 2007. We are also fortunate that our studio was a recommended training ground for Mrs. Barb Jackman, from Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, who is becoming a new ADAPT examiner. All of the examiners gave exams in various communities, cities and dance schools across the country from November until Christmas.
I hope all of you are proud to have taken part in such a prestigious opportunity right here in our own hometown. All of you should feel very successful because of your hard work, dedication, and accomplishments.
~48 Jazz and 38 Tap for a combined total of 86 ADAPT Examinations were taken this year!!
I am very proud of each and every one of you for taking part in this process, and thrilled to announce that no one received a “Re-Try” this year.
(ADAPT Tap and Jazz exams are very stringent; just earning a “PASS” requires you to meet very high expectations and receiving a “RETRY” is not uncommon.)

~Successful examination candidates receive an ADAPT certificate along with an evaluation report. Students who receive a Highly Commended Plus mark also receive the ADAPT "Medal of Merit" for their high achievement.
~Six Dancers receive high honours~
Six dancers received the prestigious ADAPT “Medal of Merit” for their high achievement of greater than 90 on their Jazz or Tap exams. Medals were given to the students to celebrate their success and love of dance.
